We have added innovation to our food security approach by collating basic skills and educational qualifications of our unemployed beneficiaries into curriculum vitae through our job placement coordinator. These skills are advertised to corporate organizations, Donors, Individuals and Volunteers digitally using e-flyer to enable beneficiaries get jobs to fend for themselves, contribute to the enterprise as well and not just to rely solely on the food bank for food.
PROBLEM WE ARE TACKLING
Lagos Food bank initiative’s main goal is to achieve zero hunger (SDG 2). Economic instability has led to high rate of unemployment which has led to poverty and then hunger. Due to the high rate of unemployment amongst our beneficiaries, Job placement program was birthed to enable our beneficiaries to be self-reliant and not solely depend on Lagos Food bank for livelihood. Through the job placement program, Lagos food bank aims to tackle poverty by providing job opportunities and resources to our beneficiaries.
Our goal is to reduce unemployment and underemployment by providing job opportunities and resources to our beneficiaries to become self-sufficient and gainfully employed.
